About Ann
My exceptional education at UC Berkeley with High Honors in English and my 10 years teaching a diversity of people and ages has endowed me the experience to grow into the adaptive and versatile educator I am today. I taught a sustainability class at Berkeley, tutored prisoners at San Quentin, long-term subbed at Sunset Continuation High School, and coached professionals in Mexico City in business English, but the experience I think most qualifies me for this substitute position is my six years teaching English to in South Korea. I spent my first 3 years there teaching at a private academy where I worked with nearly all age ranges in the K-12 system there. I spent the remainder of my time there teaching at an elementary school where I taught 12 concurrent classes their English language subject material. I'm currently a site substitute teacher at Escondido Union School District where I have been kept on my toes with following COVID-19 guidelines and have been sent every which way to assist quarantined teachers.

I have taught all ages and am very comfortable with adapting from one disparate group to the next. I have a passion for learning and a natural curiosity that propels me to always bring an enthusiastic attitude to every subject I teach, even the ones I'm not familiar with. The best way to learn is to teach in my opinion and I always bring my sense of wonder and awe in learning to my teaching practice as well.
