About Zainab

Hello,

I have recently graduated from Middlesex University with a degree in BSc mathematics, having attained a first class.

I am an enthusiastic and friendly individual with a keen interest to teach mathematics. I aim to motivate aspiring mathematicians and work closely with them so that they can achieve their full potential and attain remarkable results. I would like to create a comfortable and enjoyable learning environment by keeping the sessions as interesting and interactive as possible. I would like to not only help students overcome their difficulties in the subject, but also encourage them to enjoy learning mathematics and explore the subject in more detail, even outside the sessions.

I really enjoy teaching and this enjoyment stems from the experience I have had in the past in tutoring mathematics up to GCSE level. I have previously worked in Kumon tuition centre with students of ages between 11-16. This helped me gain experience of teaching in small groups which also includes 1-2-1 sessions with the students that require it. I also have experience of voluntary work at my secondary school working with students in a classroom environment who need more help and time to grasp some difficult GCSE topics. I would also like to mention that prior to graduating I was working as a online student learning assistant at my university, during my final year. I was working in university lectures and workshops with mathematics students in the year below on any particular modules, and providing advice on study skills, revision techniques and time management.

In my tutoring sessions, I aim to tailor the revision to cater for the students needs, whether that is to cover the syllabus or any particular topics that the student is finding difficult to grasp. For students with upcoming exams, we can also go through past papers and exam techniques, until the student feels confident and prepared.

As for availability, I am happy to tutor between Mondays and Fridays after 11am, and I will be using Zoom and Microsoft whiteboard for the sessions. Please message directly to find a time for our first lesson.
