About Olivia

I am currently a GCSE History Student and I have completed 50% of my GCSE on the WJEC exam board.
Here are my grades so far:
A - Germany in Transition paper
A* - (predicted) in coursework.

And, as already mentioned, I will also be sitting the Crime and Punishment and Sport, Leisure and Tourism paper this year to complete the GCSE.

My knowledge focuses mostly on WW1 and 2, Crime and Punishment, Sport, Leisure and Tourism, Tudors and Romans but I am also happy to assist with any other topics.

I have always loved sharing my enthusiasm for history with my friends. For the last year I have been tutoring my friend, who struggles with learning the facts and figures, and together we got her from a D to a B in 2 months using the revision techniques and the resources I provided her. She is now predicted a B/A overall.

About the lesson

I have always had a flare for history - it's the one thing that made me stand out in class as I was always branded the 'shy girl' (which I am not!). I am currently a GCSE History Student and I have completed 50% of my GCSE on the WJEC exam board (Germany in Transition paper (25%) and coursework (25%). I will also be sitting the Crime and Punishment and Sport, Leisure and Tourism paper this year to complete the GCSE.

I tutored my friend, who found history quite difficult, for her GCSE exam and got her from a D to a B in two months. She is now predicted a B/A overall and has chosen to take history as an A Level subject.

I can help with the more essay side of history. I achieved an A in English Language GCSE and I believe that one of the vital parts of history is knowing how to put all of that knowledge down in writing effectively. I have seen so many people with a mass of knowledge, certainly more than myself, but they would struggle to put it in writing - don't let this be you! So, if you struggle with essay writing, there are many techniques that I have which can help you.

The way I teach others, and even myself, is unique and almost unheard of, but the results show that it is effective for almost everyone of all learning styles and capabilities.

As a student myself, I can relate fully to the demands of school work and good grades and help you work accordingly to those grades. If I could give one piece of advice to any student it would be to set goals! If you aim for nothing, that's where you'll go.
