Passionate Educator Committed to Student Success:
I am dedicated to helping students positively engage with their work and achieve high results! Recognising that the classroom can be a competitive and daunting environment, my mission is to alleviate this by focusing on each student's unique areas of improvement, providing personalised guidance beyond the generalised education of school lessons. Over the past few years as a part-time tutor, I have had the pleasure of working closely with a diverse range of students, each at different educational and confidence levels. I find it incredibly important to build strong relationships with my students. By understanding their unique personalities, learning styles, and interests, I can tailor my teaching methods to suit their individual needs. This personal connection not only fosters a positive learning environment but also helps me guide them towards academic success with empathy and encouragement.

Studying Legal Studies was initially confronting for me! A completely new subject that had limited class time to cover the content-rich subject in depth. Legal Studies is a subject that requires sufficient external research and clarification, exceeding the bounds of the curriculum. However, with a good work ethic and dedication, I quickly discovered the 'hacks' to achieving excellent marks! Doing so made Legal Studies enjoyable, linking these difficult concepts to real-life scenarios.

My High School Experience:
I cherished my high school journey, which was greatly enriched by the support of a dedicated tutor. Although I faced anxiety in exam contexts, I overcame this challenge by mastering time management and familiarising myself with exam procedures, transforming these skills into a strong academic foundation.

My University Experience:
After receiving my High School Certificate in September 2022, I began studying a Bachelor of Criminology at Macquarie University. University life has been an incredibly rewarding experience, where I continue to excel academically while exploring my passion for criminal justice. I actively apply the knowledge and analytical skills I honed during my high school Legal Studies to my university studies, enriching my understanding of the legal system and its complexities.

Tutoring Experience:
From 2017 to 2022, I tutored 13 students across both primary and high school levels, proudly witnessing their high band results. My role as an Academic Personal Trainer (APT) with "A Team Tuition" since September 2022 has further honed my holistic tutoring approach and 'growth mindset' philosophy. I am also experienced in tutoring students on the autism spectrum, tailoring my methods to meet their individual needs. Since this work experience, I have branched out and started my own tutoring business, where I continue to admire working closely with six wonderful students ranging from Years 1 to 12. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing their self-esteem, academic confidence, and grades grow!

I have a valid NSW 'care, instruction and supervision' police check since September 2022, available on request.

Engaging and Results-Driven Preliminary and HSC Legal Studies Tutoring!

* Please note I ONLY teach high school legal studies opposed to university level.

Tailored to Distinct Learning Needs:
I recognise that each student has unique learning styles. My lessons are customised to meet your child's specific needs, ensuring they grasp key concepts effectively. For example, if your child struggles with essay writing, I will break down the structure, teach them how to develop strong arguments, and guide them in using effective evidence and analysis. By focusing on their individual challenges, I help build their confidence and improve their skills. If they require assistance in crafting a robust legal response, I focus on familiarising them with essential legal terminology, delving deeply into concepts, exploring pertinent case studies, and sourcing reliable statistics.

Approach to Lessons:
In my sessions, we start by reviewing the syllabus to ensure we cover all necessary topics. I use a mix of multiple-choice and short-answer questions to assess understanding, identifying areas for improvement and reinforcing strong points. We delve into case studies and legislation, breaking down complex information into manageable portions for better comprehension. Understanding legal theory is crucial, but we also focus on real-life application through case studies, highlighting the practical implications of legal principles. I address any queries, providing concrete evidence from legislation to support our discussions and prepare for exams and assessments. I guide students through problem-solving, encouraging them to compare approaches and deepen their understanding. Each session concludes with a brief quiz or response activity to solidify knowledge and ensure retention.

Comprehensive Resources:
All learning tools are organised within the Google Suite, including Google Classroom, Drive, Docs, and Slides. This ensures easy access for both students and parents. Online lessons are conducted via Zoom, utilising an interactive whiteboard and seamless screen sharing. Over the past two years, I have rigorously organised my learning resources, including an extensive collection of worksheets, exam papers (with feedback and annotations), flashcards, and detailed notes — all of which can be streamed directly to your child.

Support Beyond Lessons:
I am committed to providing ongoing support beyond our scheduled sessions. This includes marking student work, offering assessment guidance with exemplars, responding to queries via email, curating new resources according to each student’s level, and structuring future lessons to ensure continuous progress.

Lesson Duration:
I recommend at least one hour per session for optimal concentration but am flexible to accommodate individual needs. I am available online via Zoom or in-person.
