About Poppy

My teaching approach focuses on helping students use English clearly, confidently, and effectively. I emphasise grammar clarity, spoken fluency, confidence building, and clear writing. Lessons are designed for practical application and consistent practice, so learners can immediately use what they learn in real life.

I specialise in supporting exam takers and newcomers who are adjusting to a new language environment. I provide clear, encouraging guidance to help students speak and write with confidence. Together, we work on building vocabulary, improving pronunciation, and understanding grammar in context.

Each lesson includes conversations, exercises, and writing tasks tailored to your goals. I focus on English you will actually use, whether it’s for daily conversations, emails, essays, or exams. Students are supported to progress at their own pace while staying motivated.

About the lesson

I’m an English tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Master’s degree in World Englishes and Global Communication. I’m passionate about teaching English as a second language in ways that feel fun and relevant.

I help learners build real-life vocabulary and understand current slang. Together, we explore internet culture and the language of social media, so English feels alive and useful. I’ve worked successfully with young adults, digital natives, and curious minds who want more than just textbook learning. My lessons encourage conversation, creativity, and confidence.

Each session is tailored to your interests, making it easier to remember and use what you learn. We focus on the language people actually use today, not only the formal English found in books. I love seeing students gain fluency and feel comfortable expressing themselves in modern contexts.
