About Arthur
I am an English literature student at the University of Exeter, who can help with polishing essays i.e. proofreading them, grammatical help etc. and can also give students pointers on what to look out for in novels/poetry in order to effectively analyse them.
I gained an A* in English literature A-level, so have experience with how to analyse and write well, and have experience with advising people as I have proofread and polished personal statements belonging to friends, and was an academic mentor at my previous school, meaning I helped younger students with their writing and reading.

My teaching method varies on what is required, but as I am university level I can provide help up to A-level standard.
If reading or analysis help is needed then I would look over a particular poem, or passage from a novel/play that the student brings forward, and give pointers on what to look out for in order to effectively analyse it. For example with a poem I can give advise on how simple concepts such as the rhyme scheme or more complex systems such as the prosody can develop meaning.
If more direct essay writing help is needed I can then carry out research on the particular student's board, and advise on what needs to be included in order to achieve high marks.
