About Isla
Hi! I’m an English tutor with over 7 years of experience and a Bachelor of Science in English Language and Professional Writing. I specialize in early literacy, storytelling, and children’s literature. I love working with emergent readers and early elementary students to nurture their love for books.
In my lessons, I use picture books, interactive storytelling, and playful activities to develop phonological awareness, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. I encourage students to explore stories creatively and think about the characters, plots, and illustrations.
My goal is to help each child become a confident reader and a curious storyteller. I aim to make reading exciting, imaginative, and full of wonder. Together, we unlock the magic of books and language in every lesson.
