About Matthew
Having worked as a software developer, I've spent a lot of time writing code and being a lone, but motivated worker. However, I have a tremendous enthusiasm to help others learn what I know, in a way that's as fun and engaging as can possibly be. I believe that learning should be an active process, which facilitates the student's understanding of a topic by motivating them to actively work through exercises during a lesson, as opposed to just dictating theory to them.
My aim is to take the time to build lessons that facilitate a student's learning of a topic for a purpose.

My lessons typically contain more practice exercises for the student and activities instead of just theory, because I strongly feel that after each lesson, the student should be able to use what they have learned for a purpose.
Although I have mostly worked as a software developer, I have had some experience tutoring programming to my fellow coworkers and students. Secondly, I have achieved the CELTA Cambridge certificate for teaching English as a Foreign language, and have had some experience tutoring English. My tutoring experience and qualifications have therefore exposed to me to effective methods for teaching software, English and other subjects.
At this time, I am offering to teach:
- C# programming for beginner to intermediate levels for high school and adult students.
- English for adult students of all levels.
My lessons are typically two hours in length but can be slightly longer to allow for feedback and questions.
