I am a qualified Speech and Language Therapist and have been tutoring in English from early years (assisting with reading, creative writing), primary school English tuition through to assisting university students with dissertations for six years. I place great importance on inspiring, achievement and tailoring for individual abilities.

I am a very friendly, positive and genuine tutor who has a passion for creating and instilling confidence and positivity in students and developing an enjoyable learning atmosphere - adapting creative teaching styles to help students on an individual basis. By first, establishing the student's strengths and weaknesses - taking into account their concerns and what they find challenging - we then work together to "fill in the gaps" and construct a firm foundation on which they can build further. We do this by taking those weaknesses right back to basics, spending as long as necessary on each and using something that is interesting to each individual to bring the subject to life. This then encourages confidence and motivation for them to aim higher in their efforts and expectations of themselves. I believe that a positive mindset, enthusiasm and confidence are key in any learning experience and so my main focus is on enabling my students to grow in their confidence and abilities, enabling each student to further themselves in the subjects and career path that they choose. I have found this to be a highly successful method and would love the opportunity to help you too.
