About Alexis
I have been teaching for over 12 years - middle school and high school. I am certified in K-12 English. I expect my students to try their best, but I don't demand perfection. I believe students need time and support to establish and grow their skills. They also need to connect with their tutor. I am friendly, yet professional. I care as much about the person as I do their academics.

My teaching methods are based on student need. They vary dependent on the skill being taught. I am a highly skilled writer, and I have had much success teaching students to organize their thoughts and expand their ideas. I work with students on vocabulary, literacy, and grammar as well. Additionally, I have assisted many students with their college essays and have prepared them for SAT/ACT/Accuplacer tests. I have mainly worked with students grades 3-12, but have also helped students with college level assignments.
