About Genevieve

Heyo! My name is Genevieve, but you can call me V! I've been a tutor since 2018, although I only tutored professionally for a short period of time. I have an A.A. in Kinesiology and an A.A. in Social & Behavioral Sciences. I am currently pursuing a B.S. in Kinesiology.

I typically tutor peers like classmates or others within my cohort. I tutored English and ESL professionally- for "at-risk" children (middle school age) for 6 months in 2019. I became a freelance creative writer in 2021 and have since worked as an author for interactive fiction, a content creation and marketing intern, a copywriter, and a community builder.

Availability: M/W mornings and after 6pm, and weekends.

About the lesson

I believe learning is variable. I am a great supporter of the VARK assessment for students and learners of all sorts. Even if you don't choose me as a tutor, definitely look up VARK and find out what kind of learner you are- it's free, man.

I'm very focused on tutoring in a way specific to you and your needs. I hope to give you skills beyond just reading and writing! Tutoring from me means you get life lessons and advice to take into your future to make life (and classwork) EASIER. Work smarter, not harder!

Lesson plans vary by subject, of course, but typically you can expect the following:

- introduction to what we will be doing and focusing on
- review of what you already know
- learning new material (if needed)
- break (breaks are productive!)
- review of topics you struggle with
- analysis of what you want to work on most and how to prepare for next session

I hope to work with students and learners who are interested in bettering their minds or themselves. I have knowledge of the following topics:

- writing professionally, primarily in writing copy, content, and fiction

e.x.: copywriting, ghostwriting, outlining, interactive fiction, graphic novels, content writing and strategizing, and more,

- English Test Prep (AP, SAT/ACT, etc) ,

- Personal Essays

e.x: insight questions, personal articles, "about me"s and bios, college letters,

- and English coursework

e.x.: Reading/writing comprehension + Literature comprehension, College level writing+ essays
