About Erin

Teaching English has been my passion, and I love sharing this strength with my students, with whom I share skills, humour and a genuine rapport.

As an efficient use of time is essential, we will draw up a personalised plan to support your learning.

While I have a Teaching Certificate from MIHE and my certificate from the University of Wales includes Communications, Counselling and Language courses, my most relevant qualification for English tuition is 16 years at SMIS, a Cambridge International Examinations affiliated school overseas, where I taught and headed the English Department, helping a record number of students achieve excellent CIE exam results.

In December, I'm relocating to NZ to be closer to family, and from the 20th, I'd be delighted to offer tuition to both Kiwi and international learners online!

For your reassurance, I provide my full CV and a selection of alumni reviews to prospective students. Furthermore, for genuine value, my hourly rate INCLUDES preparation of personalised study materials just for you. I also offer a reduced-price pack for 5, 10 or 20 lesson courses. For me, teaching is primarily a service to learners, not a business.

About the lesson

With 16 years of helping students from Year 7 to 13 in a high-performing International School and online, I can support you with friendly, personalised training to make learning clear and effective - and fun! I will share key strategies that examiners reward, and carefully review your work to offer precise feedback about what and HOW to improve.
Lessons can be either 40-60 minutes, and the first 30-minute consultation to establish your needs is free.
Whether it's last-minute exam revision or foundational skills, I'll share with you my 23 years of teaching experience, and 16 specialising in English. I use a mix of original and published materials that have proven popular and effective with hundreds of students, and that include unique memory aides and strategies.
