About Janel
I attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 2013 with a degree in English Education, grades 7-12. I then taught English 10 and 11 for two years in Martinsburg, West Virginia before pursuing my master’s degree in Teaching Reading at the University of Pittsburgh. I graduated in 2017, and have been using my degree at a public school district in PA since then.

My teaching methodology is that everyone is capable of learning. I believe that reading is a fundamental skill that every person should possess, and that a literate society is one that functions the best. My goal in education is to help students reach their literacy goals, and use my knowledge of language learning to help them achieve those goals.
