About Anthony
Assessment for Learning strategies are something that I employ in everyday teaching, as a student-centred approach to learning is one where feedback is constant. Lessons are planned with this in mind. A typical lesson begins with a reminder of what has happened before, through a quick poll using Nearpod at the beginning of a lesson. Feedback throughout the lesson takes the form of both verbal and peer-assessed feedback utilizing mark schemes and expectations in order to demonstrate to pupils what is required both within lessons, but also for their exams.

Through the use of verbal feedback, as well as employing various AFL techniques, I have employed a student-centred approach to learning. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their work, with peer and self assessment a focus of lessons, as I am of the opinion that students respond best to reflection and feedback when practicing for assessments, or for daily retention of information.
