About Courtney

I am an English teacher that has worked with adolescents in formal schools as a Home Language teacher for the past seven years. I have lots of experience dealing with weaker students and love helping them improve their skills. I have taught hundreds of children to hone their reading, comprehension, writing and spelling abilities.

About the lesson

Depending on the proficiency of the student, I always teach through reading, explanation and discussion so that learners can talk about interesting subjects they care about while building important vocabulary and the ability to express what they are truly thinking both through conversation and writing.

Courtney has always excelled in the English Language right from when we were in school. It was no surprise that she ended up teaching the subject on a high school level and more recently prep school. Her experience also lies across previously tutoring English as a second language. She has recommended many books for me to read which speaks to her wide vocabulary range. A patient, understanding and passionate person, she is perfect for one on one tutoring and learning.
