About Lauren
I am a Senior at the University of Southern Mississippi who has been a private tutor for the past 6 years. I have taught over 20 students spanning every subject, but have specialized in working with middle and high school summer school students. My students gain the skills needed to excel in the following academic year, achieving higher marks on their summer work, tests, and essays than they made in the preceding year.

I am an undergraduate student planning on pursuing a PhD in English. My lessons are structured to fit the needs of the student, and my teaching methods vary accordingly. I like to create an active learning environment, in which students engage with literature and essay writing. This ensures that students make personal connections to the content and learn to think about English from a different perspective, one that they may not get in the classroom. Adapting to students' needs on a one-on-one basis makes me a successful tutor and ensures that students are getting the most out of our lessons.
