About Andrew

Hi there! My name is Andrew and I am a native English speaker with nearly 3 decades of experience reading, writing and speaking the language.

I am a Warwick University graduate with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics - all three subjects of which require a focus on writing and reading in the English language!

I am an avid reader and also studied English Literature at A Levels (gaining an A grade), as well as English Language and English Literature as two of my GCSEs (gaining A*s in both).

I have spent my entire career within the Finance and Consulting industries; in roles that have required a variety of reporting and writing capabilities for the largest clients all across the world. As such, I have been lucky enough to continue curating my ability to read, write and speak English at the highest level.

All of these have contributed to my enjoyment in reading, writing and speaking English in many formats for nearly 30 years! As such, I am able to provide English lessons at all ages and for all capabilities. I am a patient and passionate English tutor that specialises in improving conversational ability and firmly believes that practising through vocation is the most efficient and productive way of learning how to speak English. About the lesson

I am a firm believer of helping students dive right into the deep end and immersing oneself into speaking the language as much as possible, in order to obtain the most productive conversational ability. However, I also recognise the importance of desk based exercises and incorporate these into a bespoke and structured study plan in order to teach spelling, grammar and overall language skills.

In the first lesson, I am keen to maximise the individual abilities of each student by assessing their current levels and developing a bespoke study plan, which shall be constantly amended through each session. I do this alongside the student to ensure clarity on progress and desired outcomes for each class.

I am particularly adept at rapidly identifying rooms for improvement, as well as the requisite solutions. At the same time, I have a warm and laid back nature that allows me to praise good work as and when it is deserved.

As a native English speaker with nearly over a decade of experience, I am able to provide lessons for all ages and capabilities - from beginner's learning, to CV preparation and literature classes. My lessons are typically 55 minutes in duration. I am always punctual and prepared, and am confident you will love my lessons and more importantly, love learning English!
