As a dedicated fourth-year English major with a strong academic foundation in literature and writing, I bring both subject expertise and professionalism to every tutoring session. My goal as a tutor is to make content feel clear and manageable. Whether we're building grammatical skills, working through texts, or strengthening your writing, I focus on helping students understand why something works, not just what to say, so they can apply skills independently long after our sessions end.
A typical lesson plan, flexible and paced to the student's comfort level, looks like this:
1. Check in and goals: What assignment, text, or skill are we working on today?
2. Step-by-step walk through of task at hand
3. Independent application
4. Wrap up and next steps: discussion of lingering questions, takeaways, and optional practice suggestions.
As a current English student, I have extensive experience in reading comprehension, analysis, and academic writing. I can patiently and encouragingly help instill these skills in elementary, middle, and high school students. All levels are welcome, from those struggling to those aiming to excel.
