Hello! I am a university student completing the final year of a five-year concurrent education program with a Double Major in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and Secondary Education. I have two minors in Environmental Studies -- for which I am very passionate -- and French Language Studies as well!
Hobbies & Interests
I LOVE being outdoors, whether I am hiking or skiing! I also love drawing and painting in my free time. I am very flexible, versatile and love finding ways to make learning as fun as possible!

I have had experience teaching in both primary and secondary schools. Being a French language learner for over 10 years, I strongly believe that meaningful language acquisition cannot take place without active discussion and social interaction in a student’s target language. I approach lesson planning with a communicative and cooperative learning approach and prioritize creating an environment where students feel safe to engage in open discussions, collaborative projects, debates, social activities, and other creative ways of maximizing their language output in new and fun ways. I am particularly interested in project-based teaching, where I am able to build my lessons around big ideas and essential questions that are relevant and engaging to my students. My goal is to have students engage in English language learning through the exploration of subjects that are interesting to them and that motivate them to participate in discussions, engage meaningfully with content, conduct research projects, share ideas with their peers, and experience language learning without realizing that it is happening. I am creative with my lesson planning and always ensure that my lessons are multimodal — incorporating a class-wide activity, a small-group work component, and an individual work component. This ensures students experience variety and in each lesson there is something that meets a range of learning needs or preferences in the class. Having worked in a myriad of different classroom settings, I am able to adapt and differentiate my lessons both proactively and reactively to help meet all my students' needs!
