About Mackenzie

I am a patient and adaptable tutor who helps students build confidence and skills in English and reading. I work with learners of all grade levels, from elementary through high school, tailoring my approach to each student’s needs. My sessions focus on supporting homework, clarifying concepts, and strengthening reading and writing skills in a low-pressure, encouraging environment. What sets me apart is my ability to recognize when a student is struggling, adjust my approach in the moment, and make learning manageable, engaging, and confidence-building. I strive to help students not just complete assignments, but feel capable and empowered as learners.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, writing, and exploring ways to make learning engaging and accessible. I value curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning, and I enjoy helping students discover confidence in their own voices and ideas.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is flexible, student-centered, and aligned with each learner’s schoolwork. I focus on helping students understand assignments, strengthen reading comprehension, improve writing clarity, and build confidence in their skills. I guide students through homework and class material by breaking tasks into manageable steps, asking guiding questions, and reinforcing strategies they can use independently. Sessions are supportive, structured, and paced to the student’s needs.

What sets me apart is my ability to combine academic support with patience, empathy, and clear communication. I use practical strategies and positive reinforcement to help students not only improve academically but also feel more comfortable and confident as learners. I pay close attention to when students feel stuck or frustrated and adjust my approach to keep learning manageable and encouraging. aim to create a supportive, low-pressure learning environment where students feel heard, encouraged, and capable of growth. My goal is not just to complete homework, but to help students feel more confident, capable, and less anxious about reading and English.
