I have taught and tutored English grammar and writing for 34 years as a part-time college professor and tutor at 2 community colleges, working with over 1,000 students. Most of them managed to learn something. Some of them even enjoyed it.

My teaching encourages writing that is clear, concise, and correct. I attempt to do it with humorous examples, ie, did you know misused commas and apostrophes can kill? I can prove it. I have a masters degree in English Education. And I can tell you the secret about semicolons.
