About Laura
I have degree's in English, counselling, sociology, and a TESOL certificate. I have twenty years of teaching English as a second language and have run my own business. I have taught elementary school, college and university! I have been a language trainer at all levels of government, helping people pass their language exams. I have taught judges, politician's and truck drivers.

My teaching methods are a combination of understanding English grammar, expanding vocabulary and applying what is learned through speaking. Tuning the ear, understanding the mechanic's of the language, as well as speaking it, are key to becoming fluent. The more you practise, the better you are able to speak English. It's that simple. Learning should never be painful. The only mistake is telling yourself you can't learn English. Anyone can. It takes work. I tell my students that learning a language is like learning to ride a bike. You get on, fall off, get back on, and soon you are riding all on your own.
