About Delatour
I am British born, but living in California for many years. I am known for being very articulate, a good writer and negotiator in my business dealings. A former professional Opera singer, Stage, Television and Radio performer, I had the benefit of excellent private education in England and the added benefit of elocution lessons at an early age. I speak with an accent that is considered Queens English, but with the added experience of adapting and using the language idiosyncrasies and everyday speech of my adopted Country, America. My musical 'ear' is acute, useful for recognizing regional accents and speech patterns. I sing in many languages (7) and take pride in the pronunciation of the language I am using at that time. I have been instrumental in teaching others to professionally present themselves, give business presentations, or improve sales technique. All using the spoken word! My English accent has opened many doors in America but this would have crashed immediately if I could not articulate efficiently! The minute someone speaks, can make or break a relationship. This can instill confidence or 'kill the deal'.. language can be beautiful, however one uses it. But it should be used well!

My goal is this. In order to conduct a stress free, articulate and flowing conversation, one needs to fully understand the way a word is used in context to the conversation. I encourage the student to be bold, and really enjoy the process of a good 'chat' with other people, socially or in a business setting. This gives the listener confidence in the others ability to converse with intelligence and confidence. An absolute, especially when conducting a business transaction. I can enhance the students knowledge of the correct English pronunciation and comprehension, irregardless of your National origin. You will learn to engage in an interesting dialogue or presentation, be it with one other or hundreds of people at a time.Your personality remains, but your knowledge of 'big' words will increase, and the efficient use of the language in written sentences will impress the reader and put across your point, without rambling !
