About Lia

I'm a very academically-minded University student working at a high level in my assignments at present. My highest-graded paper received a score of 95%. Over the years, I have fostered a dedicated growth mindset and honed my skills in studying and writing and would like to help other students to do the same. My passion for learning helps me to improve my work on a daily basis, and working with young people has encouraged me to seek students to tutor on a 1:1 basis. I believe it would be a mutually beneficial arrangement, helping us both to grow academically.

My employment at Sense College developed skills in adaptive communication, different learning styles, and sensitive, person-centred delivery. I have basic understanding of BSL, having completed two stages of Sense's in-house training course.

About the lesson

Personalised tutoring sessions tailored to the specific needs of students using interactive techniques, visual aids, and hands-on activities. Lessons typically last an hour. Although new to tutoring, I excel with young people, being the eldest of seven siblings -- some with diverse special needs. I also have recent experience as an Educational Support Worker in a SEN college supporting with lesson plans. As a result, I am patient, understanding and adaptable to a host of needs and abilities. I emphasise encouragement, engagement, clear explanation, and building confidence through support and motivation. I welcome enquiries for students at primary, secondary, GCSE and A-Level, also offering proofreading services at a higher education level for University students.
