About Ciaran
Experienced in tutoring for GCSE English Literature in Wales and looking to continue my work in London.
I have extensive experience with core texts used by UK exam boards such as 'Of Mice and Men'', 'An Inspector Calls', 'About a Boy' and several texts by Shakespeare.
On top of this, I am well versed in biblical studies and history, something that is highly prominent in western literature and can help illustrate how texts are developed within their contexts and religious circumstances.

My teaching method is tailored to each pupil and their specific wants and needs. I am a highly adaptive person and I apply that to my methods. I usually start my sessions with context for the text being studied, with a outline for characters, authors and themes (if poetry then also the form, rhyme and meter). Analysis is exceedingly important when studying English and thus take time to work through the texts with each pupil, while allowing them to attempt much of this analysis with only simple prompts and guidance. This is so that the pupil is actively learning how to work with and analyse texts and be able to replicate these skills within an exam.
