About Samuel
I am a professional actor, writer and voiceover artist. I studied English and Related Literature at the University of York. I take great pleasure in helping young people to enjoy the vitality and the beauty of the English language and to instil in them a lifelong love of reading the works of great writers.

I love to share my enthusiasm for good writing. We look together at set texts, taking careful note of the author's choices and considering their effects on the reader. Reading aloud is important for appreciating the unique physical, textural qualities of a text. Then we practice articulating our observations in sentences and paragraphs. I hope to encourage students that the subject is easier than it seems. It's often a case of pointing out things that seem to obvious to mention. It helps to imagine yourself in the writer's shoes!
