About Asmita
I’m a UCL postgraduate student studying Digital Media, having previously completed a BA in English Literature at UCL. I achieved 44/45 in the International Baccalaureate and have experience mentoring and tutoring students through Debate Mate. I’m passionate about helping students build confidence in their subjects, particularly English, essay writing and the humanities, while developing skills they can use independently.

My approach to tutoring is tailored to each student’s individual needs, level and learning style. I aim to make lessons engaging and supportive while giving students clear strategies they can use independently.
I usually begin by identifying the student’s strengths, areas they find difficult and what they would like to achieve. Lessons then combine explanation, discussion, guided practice and independent work. For essay-based subjects, I focus on developing clear arguments, analysing evidence, structuring responses and expressing ideas confidently. For exam preparation, I use practice questions, timed responses and targeted revision strategies.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although I can adapt the length depending on the student’s age, subject and requirements.
I teach students from primary level through GCSE, A-Level and IB, depending on the subject. I can support English Language and Literature, Italian, Spanish, Philosophy, Drama/Theatre, essay writing and study skills, as well as selected GCSE/IGCSE subjects.
