About Imogen
Firstly, a bit of a background on me! I am a student currently studying a Law And Politics (LLB) degree at Cardiff University, I have recently moved to a place called Oakdale after purchasing my first home with my partner! I have quite an academic background and attained a number of impressive grades during my time in previous education. I have great experience in both English Literature and Language, with grades A at GCSE and Grade B at A-Level for the two subjects. My main focuses within English have been on Poetry, Plays such as Macbeth and Much Ado, Creative Writing, Essay Writing and much more. These are just a few of my strongest subjects, and I have knowledge within many different avenues of English.
I believe I would be a suitable tutor for someone as I have a lot of experience with the English topics and some of the challenging issues that come alongside studying this such as the complexed essays and confusing terms and the structuring of essays. I am able to teach almost all levels of history for students that are struggling, from primary school level, all the way up to a-level students!
I have experience teaching, despite my age. I have helped teach my autistic brother who struggled academically during his education. I am also currently working as an on-call supply teacher/ learning support so have relevant experience. You can rest assured that students will be in safe hands as I have an enhanced DBS check and I am registered with the EWC (education workforce council)!

My teaching method is to be open and honest with my students. I will engage with learners during our lessons to ensure that they are comfortable with the tasks at hand, and to make sure they know I am available to address anything they need help with! I also will provide a supportive learning environment whereby students can approach me at any time to ask for help, as well as attending lessons, I will be available for students to email at any time for additional support to make sure they are getting the most out of their tutoring.
I will also use a mixture of learning tools with the students, from revision techniques, essay plans, practise essay questions, quizzes and much more, to ensure that students are getting the best and most effective learning experience! I will provide students with access to resources for our lessons, and I will also provide them with powerpoints and anything else that is used during their session so they can revisit! Ongoing feedback will also be provided on tasks completed by students.
