About Zara
I’m a bubbly, bright and engaging tutor with a genuine passion for teaching and helping students reach their potential. As the eldest sister and cousin in my family, I naturally found myself supporting younger family members with their studies as they grew up, helping with homework, explaining difficult topics and encouraging them when they lacked confidence. Over time, this developed into a genuine interest in teaching, which I expanded through independent tutoring.
I have now been tutoring for 3 years, supporting students from primary school through to GCSE level. I particularly enjoy teaching English Language and Literature, as I love helping students develop their understanding, express their ideas clearly and become more confident in their abilities.
I’m patient, approachable and adaptable, and I always try to make lessons engaging rather than simply following a one-size-fits-all approach. I enjoy getting to know my students and finding ways to make learning feel enjoyable and rewarding. Seeing a student’s confidence grow and watching them make progress is one of my favourite parts of tutoring.

I take a personalised and flexible approach to tutoring, adapting my teaching style and techniques to suit each student’s individual needs, learning style and goals. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable, supported and confident, so I aim to create a positive environment where they can ask questions, make mistakes and develop their skills at their own pace.
I have 3 years of independent tutoring experience and teach English Language and Literature to students from primary school through to GCSE level. During this time, I have supported students in making clear and marked improvements in their confidence, understanding and academic performance.
My lessons typically last 1 hour, although I am happy to offer longer sessions where appropriate. Depending on the student, lessons may include guided explanations, exam-style questions, discussion, reading and comprehension activities, essay planning, writing practice, revision techniques and targeted feedback. I can also adapt lessons around upcoming exams, specific areas of difficulty or topics the student would like extra support with.
I work with students of different ages and abilities and believe there is no single teaching method that works for everyone. I therefore take the time to understand each student and tailor my lessons accordingly, whether they need help building foundational English skills, improving their written expression, developing analytical skills or preparing for GCSE exams.
My aim is not only to help students achieve better results, but also to help them become more confident, independent and motivated learners.
