Passionate, patient, and creative English teacher (PGCE, QTS) with a decade of experience helping both children and adults fast-track their English reading, listening, and speaking skills. Specialising in: supporting people with EAL and SEND/ SEMH; inspiring a love of literature and learning for those previously struggling to access education, and bringing classic literature and poetry alive with fun, engaging lessons.

Grounded in the theory of mastery and inspired by Doug Lemov's Teach Like a Champion, my lessons build in response to both the interests and needs of the learner.
Each lesson is bespoke and designed in response to the learner's emerging needs; pitched in what Vygotsky coined the 'Zone of Proximal Development', my lessons push the learner to make rapid and sustained progress. I am very passionate about cognitive theory and specifically, the process in which information in encoded in the working memory and stored in the long term memory as this means learners will retain the knowledge and skills attained in my lessons long into the future.
Finally, I know that learning relies on passion and confidence, so my curriculum is designed (fresh and new for each learner) to be inspiring and offer opportunities for success.
