My teaching method is to firstly cover the contextual details of the text before taking an analytical approach. Understanding context is an important aspect to studying any text in order to make connections and understand what is being said. I would then go on to annotate the text itself, then finally go on to explore how this information can be transferred into a top grade exam answer.
