About Anderson

I've been tutoring ever since high school out of a desire to help my family and friends. Through experimentation with my own studying methods, I've found some ways to achieve my ELA goals.

Most notably, I've been able to obtain a score within the 99th percentile on the SAT Reading Section, as well as the SAT Writing and Language Section. I've also been able to place in several writing contests.

I am currently a Legal Studies and Economics double major in Boston, which I believe contributes greatly to my experience as a writer and a tutor. Given my overall experience, I am generally a very adaptable writer, transitioning from academic writing to more creative expressions if need be.

Since I'm used to managing a tight schedule on a daily basis, I am also no stranger to effective scheduling. I am flexible with my hours to accommodate my student's learning in a timely and effective manner.

All in all, I just really want to see my students succeed. If my students are able to reach their goals, whatever they may be, then I'll be very delighted. If my students need more time and care to nurture them on the path toward success, then I'll be more than willing to put in the extra work to get my students to where they want to go. After all, I'm happy when my students are happy.

About the lesson

I've been tutoring friends and family for many years now, ever since I started high school. Some of those whom I've tutored have seen significant improvements in their English abilities. As such, I've crafted a generally effective system for studying English.

- For General Tutoring, at the beginning of lessons, I usually review students' writings and give them tips or strategies depending on their specific goals and needs. They can give me their homework or assignments and we'll work on them together. I can also help with either learning or improving upon general grammar.

- For SAT prep, I usually go through prep materials and dissect questions with students to help them better understand questions. That way, I can get a student to see the patterns in questions, which will help reduce the time used per section, whilst also improving accuracy.

My lessons are typically geared toward 6th graders to 11th graders. However, I am more than happy to tutor those below the 6th-grade level. It's important to note that I can do both General Tutoring and Sat Prep all in one session if requested.
