About Edwina
I am currently doing my MA in the History of Art and Archaeology of East Asia at SOAS (London).
During my undergrad, I worked at a summer camp in Oxford where I helped students write their personal statements, and proofread many of their assignments.
I have also helped family friends prepare for Oxbridge interviews (being familiar with the whole process myself), and am happy to say that one of them just received an offer from Cambridge.
I have also been a document editor part time at a company based in Bangkok, and have more recently been a nanny and helped two boys (9 and 6) with their homework.
I have been lucky enough to have lived in several countries and grown up in a multilingual household. I speak French fluently (which I am also happy to teach), and am learning Japanese and Korean.

My teaching method is very collaborative. I think this is especially important for a subject like English lit where some of the most thought-provoking and compelling ideas spring out of dialogue, questions, and exchange. I like to start by giving students the chance to write something (no matter how long or short) in response to a work or text and build from that rather than stating my opinion/position outright. I also think it is often far more interesting and productive to work on texts that speak to them in some way, so gauging interest/preferences is something I prioritise.
