About Jamie

Hello! I study at the University of Victoria. I have always been passionate about stories and the power of language. Books have been a source of comfort and inspiration for me, and I enjoy sharing that with others.

My enthusiasm for teaching was ignited by an amazing English teacher I had in high school, who demonstrated how powerful language can be in shaping our lives and experiences. Now, my greatest joy comes from helping students discover their own love for stories—whether in books, writing, or in the everyday experiences we live through.

I believe that every student has a unique story, and I am here to assist them in telling it confidently. My approach is warm, supportive, and focused on creating a safe space where students can thrive. Let's explore the world of language together!

About the lesson

As a tutor, I believe in a learner-centered approach where each student’s unique needs and abilities shape the direction of our lessons. My methodology focuses on interactive learning, using engaging games and activities to make English language and literacy fun.
