About Mia
Greetings & salutations, my name is Mia. A patient scholar with empathy I am a teacher, author, and creative arts professional with a diverse academic and teaching background spanning English, creative writing, essay writing, literature, French, art and design, business, and Montessori education.
My educational journey includes studies at Concordia University, where I pursued Art, Design, and Creative Writing, and McGill University, where I studied Business. My multidisciplinary education has provided me with a strong foundation in both the creative and academic fields, allowing me to bring a unique and well-rounded perspective to my teaching.
I gained substantial experience teaching English language and literature, creative writing, essay writing, and French, working with students of different ages and learning levels. My approach emphasizes clear communication, critical thinking, creativity, confidence, and the development of strong writing skills. I encourage students to express their ideas thoughtfully while developing their individual voices as writers and learners.
My background also includes Montessori kindergarten education, where I gained valuable experience supporting young children's intellectual, creative, social, and emotional development. This experience strengthened my belief in creating a nurturing, engaging, and student-centered learning environment.
Combining my experience in education, writing, literature, art, design, and business, I bring an interdisciplinary approach to teaching.
