About Caelainn
As a diligent university student who has been a Year 6 English tutor and has been volunteering for many roles for the public like being a mental health peer supporter, I have fostered a desire to continue to help and create a positive environment for others. With my experience, I can reassure you that professionalism, understanding, and confidentiality is my top priority as a tutor. • Lessons are personalised therefore, they are adjusted to focus to your needs. Active learning is also utilised. For example, during my lessons I use the pause procedure whereupon we take a break every 10-15 minutes and allow students to undertake work or ask questions to inform me on what they have understood. Lessons usually commence with understanding the concept/skill required to help them do the task, then we apply our understanding to a task. After reviewing their work, we build up to more difficult tasks or take some time to go over what could be improved and work through the next tasks together. At the end, we look over what went well and what we could do more to help improve next time. There is the option of going through past papers or giving them past papers or homework.
• For those wanting to practice English conversations, the topic is personalised. Therefore, it is up to you to decide what you want to talk about. If you have no idea, we can have general conversations.
• Lesson length can be 30 minutes up to 1 hour and a half.
• I have experience tutoring Year 6's online as part of a service that helps disadvantaged pupils across the UK. In addition, I have been a teacher support volunteer for Year 11's.
• Lessons for anyone at any age and at any level.
