About Ritu

I teach English to working adults and help them communicate more clearly and comfortably in their professional lives.

Sometimes you know exactly what you want to say, but finding the right words or putting the sentence together is difficult. You may understand English quite well but feel less comfortable speaking, especially when you need to explain something in detail or respond on the spot.

Our lessons start from where you are and what you need. We might work on speaking, grammar, vocabulary, sentence formation, pronunciation, comprehension or writing — usually a combination of these, depending on what is getting in your way at work.

While we all want to reach our goals a little faster, getting there comfortably often means filling in a few gaps along the way. Skipping stages or jumping levels can make the next step harder than it needs to be. That’s why I believe in learning English systematically, while always keeping your professional goals in sight. We’ll work on the areas you need, build on what you already know, and use what you learn in the workplace situations that are relevant to you.

I bring over two and a half years of online English teaching experience, working with learners across different ages and proficiency levels, including complete beginners. During this time, I have maintained consistently excellent student ratings and reviews, outstanding attendance, and have been recognized 14 times for maintaining high standards across teaching performance, student satisfaction and reliability.

My background in English Literature, along with my experience in business and administration, gives me both a strong understanding of English and a practical understanding of communication at work.

My aim is to help you become comfortable using English independently, rather than simply memorizing what to say in a particular situation.

I like my lessons to be structured but comfortable, with enough flexibility to focus on what each learner actually needs.

Rather than following the same lesson plan for everyone, I adapt lessons to the way you learn and the areas we are working on. We may spend more time practicing something that needs attention, revisit a concept when necessary, or move ahead when you are ready. I also encourage questions — understanding why something works is just as important as knowing the answer.

I enjoy explaining the logic behind English rather than asking students to simply memorize rules or phrases. We then practice using what we have learned through conversation, examples, exercises and situations that are relevant to you.

Lessons are interactive, so you will have plenty of opportunities to speak, try things for yourself, make mistakes and work through them with me. Corrections are part of the learning process, but I also want you to understand the correction so that you can recognize and use it independently the next time.

Where useful, we can work with situations and material connected to your professional life, so that what you practice feels relevant to the way you actually use English.

My aim is to create a learning environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, taking your time when you need to, and steadily becoming more independent with your English.
