About Payton
Over the last 4 years I have spent my time in CPS (Chicago Public Schools), private charter schools, and public schools in the Chicago suburbs. This well of experience has allowed me to appreciate the uniqueness that is present in every one of my students.
I know that not everyone will learn the same, but I can ensure that I will work just as hard no matter the student. I truly love English and writing and have spent the last four years studying it as well, and yet I do understand that not everyone is that way.
My goal is not to make you like English, but rather instill the confidence within you to complete and excel on your English work.

I understand that not every lesson will look the same for every kid and that is okay. In order for me to cater my lessons to each student, I make sure to get to know them and their learning style first. Addressing where the student is struggling and figuring out why that may be always comes first.
After that I create my lessons so that they (the lessons) feel personable and effective for the student I've created them for, ensuring that the material is not only learned but resonating with the student.
I am comfortable working with grades K-5 and have experience working with every grade level for extended periods of time. On top of that, I have worked with a large variety of skill levels and learning disabilities. Nothing is out of my comfort zone and I'd love to help teach your student English!
