About Jason
I have worked as a California Credentialed teacher for nearly ten years. Before that, I taught college level writing courses with an emphasis on the basics of argumentative, research and expository writing. I have taught fiction and poetry writing. I have tutored hundreds of students into better SAT/ACT scores. While working in education, I also wrote often , honing my skills and the ability to pass them on to others, regardless of the level.
As a parent and a student, I know the value of those I tutor. I understand the pressure and anxiety that accompanies learning in our contemporary society. I work to remove those barriers for others with the same passion I would my own children or myself.

I have sat across the table from thousands of students, learning something from each and every one of them. Mainly that everyone has the ability to learn. We all possess the ability to problem solve and think critically. Tutoring a student is about showing her that learning is possible.
Writing, like any other craft, is simply a series of steps that need to be practiced. The road to mastery travels through repetition of the basics. I am expert at describing those fundamentals and using my students' assignments to practice those skills in a way that helps them to not just complete their work, but think and learn better on their own.
