About Maya
Hello! My name is Maya and I am a student currently studying English and History at the University of Leeds, but am originally from London. Since I can remember, I have had a particular personal and academic affinity towards English and thorughly enjoyed learning in school. As a result of this, I have always been excited and enthusiastic to help others not only improve, but appreciate the subject. I have had experience in tutoring Year 7 to Year 9, and now I am university level, on track for a first class honours, I am most definitely qualified for teaching GCSE. I am easy going, but firm when needs be, and above all am adaptable to personality and skills of others, which allows me to better connect with the student. Being a younger yet qualified tutor, I will also be very relatable to students who perhaps cannot engage with teachers well. Above all, my aim is to inspire confidence in students struggling with English and get to the academic root of the subject in order to better engage the student.
