About Cliona

I never wanted to be anything other than a teacher believe it or not. Teaching has been so different from what I thought it was going to be, but in the best way. Being in a classroom and having those 'ah ha' moments happen in front of your eyes is so special.

Don't get me wrong, there are good days and bad days, but I've really enjoyed teaching poetry (something I despised in school myself) and teaching students about the layers of the earth and all the magical aspects of our weird and wonderful world. It is something I will never get tired of.

With one-on-one lessons, I feel that you can genuinely ask all the questions you might have been too shy to ask in class and we can go over things a couple of times until it really sinks in, and that is why I decided to sign up for this along with working full-time in a school.

About the lesson

My speciality is breaking down the exam papers so you understand what exactly they're asking you for. My lessons are typically 45–50 minutes in length and focus on a plan we put together to suit your needs. I believe everyone's learning styles are different so we will focus on yours and how to maximize your time while studying.

I've done small group and one-on-one lessons for three years in both English (JC and LC) and Geography (JC). Not only that, but I also bring in your other subjects by showing you how sentence structure, the correct grammar and general writing tips and tricks can really improve your grades and confidence.
