About Dominic
I’m originally from Baltimore, Maryland, and I’ve always enjoyed learning, writing, and connecting with people from different backgrounds. I chose Penn State because I wanted the experience and name recognition of a large university while still staying within driving distance of home, and I earned my BA in English there.
Outside of teaching and tutoring, I’m a big Baltimore Ravens fan — especially Lamar Jackson and company. I also enjoy gaming, Warhammer 40K miniatures, and writing, both personally through journaling and more broadly on topics that interest me.
Professionally, I bring more than two years of ESL teaching experience, a 200-hour TEFL certification, and a patient, conversational approach to learning. I enjoy helping people become more confident in how they read, write, speak, and express themselves.

My tutoring approach is patient, practical, and tailored to the individual learner. I focus on helping students understand not only what is correct, but why it works, using clear explanations, examples, conversation, and guided practice.
A typical lesson may include reviewing previous material, identifying areas that need improvement, practicing reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, or conversation skills, and ending with a short review or next-step goal.
I have a BA in English, a 200-hour TEFL certification, and more than two years of experience teaching adult English-language learners. I am especially comfortable working with ESL students, adult learners, and students who want to improve their writing, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, or conversational English.
My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence at their own pace.
