About Jake
I absolutely love seeing a subject *click* with a student after a tutoring session and am more than happy to spend hours on end exploring topics side by side with my students to ensure their understanding. Not only does this ensure my student’s understanding of a topic, it gives them confidence to research and think around a problem in creative ways. I believe everyone can be amazing at any subject given both time and effort however, this time and effort is not a one sided thing, both tutor and student should put in equal amounts of effort to see the absolute best result.

I myself used personal tutoring to pass GCSE subjects I struggled with, now those subjects are those I want to specialise in! Personalised tutoring sessions are an amazing way to alter your thinking process in order to understand a topic and that is exactly what I aim to do. After a brief discussion on your struggles we can get straight to work and battle confusion. I can offer any length of lesson given reasonable notice covering a vast variety of both GCSE and A-level (Year 10+ UK) Mathematics, Engineering and Physics topics. Prior to my own A-Level exams I provided group tutoring sessions for my peers, personal tutoring sessions for those who wanted it most and provided as much help as possible around education hours, all of which can be available to you.

I’ve spent many hours with Jake going over mathematical concepts and past paper questions in the lead-up to exams. He patiently demystified calculus for me by starting from first principles and methodically building on my previous knowledge. I can’t recommend him enough, he’s given me confidence in my maths ability again.
I know Jake as he is in my year group and he was excellent at helping with structured maths revision in the run up to the exams. He managed to cover all the content at a comfortable pace and ensured that I was happy with a topic before moving on. I would definitely recommend as he is able to explain difficult topics with clarity, ensuring a high level of understanding.
