I usually take the first lecture to understand the level of exposure the students have had in the past in the particular course. I gradually increase the level after carefully considering the cohort's diversity. I create a lecture plan based on my first and second lectures for the rest of the syllabus. I also don't discriminate against students who are slow to pick up on a few topics, because everyone has to start somewhere. I particularly don't believe in the level of a course. My principle in this scenario would be "If you find it hard, spend more time on it and make it easier for yourself". This was also how I learned engineering and mathematics. Of course, I always reply to emails and clarify doubts at the earliest. I can take lessons in mathematics (linear algebra, probability and statistics) at the undergraduate level. I can also teach engineering physics (material science and heat transfer) for undergraduate students
