About Ryan
I am a second year student studying Civil Engineering at the University of Bristol, where I apply the maths I've learnt on a daily basis.
Starting off in school by just helping younger pupils at lunchtime, I've seen first-hand the impact that a tutor can have in improving a students understanding, and most importantly their confidence in solving problems. And that's exactly what I plan to do.

My lessons are for students at GCSE level and below. For GCSE students, lessons will be tailored to the specific exam syllabus they are doing.
Lessons can last between 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the preference of the student/parent. I offer a free taster session at the start too.
I like to firstly assess the level, strengths and weaknesses of the student in the first couple of sessions. Most sessions after will include explaining concepts by sharing and writing on my screen for the student to see. This will then usually be followed by questions which I'll let the student attempt or walk them through the method of solving it. Closer to exam periods the focus will shift more towards exam technique and picking up as many marks as possible.
I have experience mentoring/teaching maths to a variety of younger students when I was in my final two years of school. I achieved A* in both GCSE Maths and Further Maths, as well as a 7 in Higher Level IB Maths (equivalent to A-level A*).
