About Jessica
Hello, my name is Jessica and I'm currently an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley studying mechanical engineering. I've tutored students in calculus in high school. I have a substantial background in math, having taken everything from pre-algebra to AP Calculus BC, as well as Calculus III: Analytic Geometry, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. During lessons, I encourage students to ask questions to ensure their understanding of the material. I also like to use real world examples to make material more relatable and easier to understand.
My typical lesson plan consists of assessing the student's current understanding of the material. By starting with this, I am able to gauge their strengths and weaknesses and tackle the weaknesses during the lesson. Next I will introduce concepts and review previous topics with the student to ensure material is understood between lessons. Next we use these concepts through practice problems and discussions, and finally we end with feedback and review so I can improve for the next lesson.
