About Chacko

My name is Chacko, and I am a dedicated and patient tutor currently studying Mechatronics Engineering at QUT. My background in a technical, problem-solving field helps me explain concepts clearly, think logically, and support students in a structured and engaging way.

I have strong experience tutoring young students in both one-on-one and group environments, helping them build confidence in English through clear explanations, guided practice, and personalized feedback. I also volunteer at QUT through CONNECT and KickSTART, where I mentor high-school students and help them transition smoothly into university. These roles have strengthened my communication skills, leadership, and ability to engage learners of different ages and backgrounds.

Outside of tutoring, I run a growing social media page where I share music covers with a global audience. This has helped me develop strong presentation skills, creativity, and the confidence to connect with people in an authentic and engaging way.

I am committed to professionalism, reliability, and creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and proud of their progress.

About the lesson

My approach to English tutoring is centered on clarity, confidence‑building, and adapting lessons to each student’s level and learning style. I focus on breaking concepts down into simple, relatable steps and using real examples so students understand not just what to do, but why it works. I use a mix of guided practice, interactive discussion, and targeted feedback to help students improve steadily and feel comfortable asking questions.

Techniques & Methodology:

Step‑by‑step explanations with real‑world examples

Active practice through reading, writing, and speaking exercises

Immediate, constructive feedback to reinforce learning

Adapting teaching style to suit visual, verbal, or hands‑on learners

Encouraging students to think independently and build confidence

Typical Lesson Length:
My lessons typically run for 45–60 minutes, depending on the student’s needs and attention span. For younger learners, I keep sessions dynamic and engaging with shorter activities.

Qualifications & Experience:
I have experience tutoring English to young children in both one‑on‑one and larger group settings, including marking work, giving performance feedback, and helping students strengthen their reading, writing, and communication skills. My broader tutoring and mentoring background at QUT (CONNECT and KickSTART) has also strengthened my ability to teach clearly, patiently, and supportively.

Who My Lessons Are For:
I teach primary and early high‑school students, as well as learners who need help with foundational English skills, homework support, grammar, reading comprehension, and confidence in speaking and writing.
