About Aditi
I'm a biomedical engineer. I've been working as a private tutor since a year. I teach various subjects including mathematics, science, history, geography, Hindi, Marathi, English, computer science and information technology to middle school and high school students. My approach to teaching is example and activity driven. I teach concepts using real life examples. I also make my students to perform simple activities that lead to better understanding. For instance, if I want to illustrate what the circumference of a circle stands for and why we need to calculate it, I'll ask my students to cut a circular cardboard and mark a point on the circle and use a measuring tape to determine the circumference. Then I'll ask them to imagine the circular cardboard as a wheel and ask them to determine how much distance the wheel will travel when it makes a particular number of turns. I teach them basics and encourage them to decode complexity of problems on their own. I very strongly believe that when students are given a chance to try things on their own, not only do their logical and reasoning skills develop but the teacher gets a chance to understand the student's way of thinking. When I understand the student's way of thinking, I can help him/her better by making him/her understand why his/her way of thinking is right or wrong and how he/she can develop alternate and easier ways of thinking. I believe my job doesn't end when I have taught what I'm supposed to teach. My job is to ensure that the student has a wholesome learning experience and leaves the class satisfied and enlightened.
