About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach is centered around making learning meaningful, engaging, and tailored to the individual needs of each student. I specialize in middle and high school mathematics, particularly Algebra I, Geometry, and foundational skills for 7th and 8th grade students. My teaching style blends real-world applications, culturally responsive examples, and interactive strategies that help students not only understand math but also connect with it on a personal level.

I begin each session by identifying the student's current level of understanding and addressing any gaps in prior knowledge. A typical lesson starts with a quick warm-up or diagnostic problem, followed by guided instruction using visual models, digital tools, and relatable scenarios. We then work through examples together, followed by independent practice where I offer scaffolding and feedback in real time. I always conclude with a reflective question or a mini-assessment to track progress and inform the next lesson.
