About Alberto

¡Hola! I am Alberto P. Reynoso Holston, a dedicated and passionate Spanish tutor. Learning a new language opens doors to new cultures, connections, and opportunities, and my goal is to make that journey as enjoyable and accessible as possible for you. Whether you are starting completely from scratch or looking to polish your conversational skills, I provide a welcoming, judgment-free space to practice and grow.

Drawing from extensive experience in personalized, one-on-one coaching, I know exactly how to adapt to different learning paces. I focus heavily on building my students' confidence from day one, ensuring you feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them in a supportive environment.

My Teaching Methodology

My classes are designed around your specific goals, with a strong emphasis on practical, real-world communication. We will move beyond dry textbook memorization and focus on how Spanish is actually spoken.

Tailored Lesson Plans: Every student learns differently. I customize our sessions based on your personal interests, whether you are preparing for travel, aiming to boost your career, or simply diving into a new hobby.
Beginner-Friendly Approach: If you are new to the language, we will establish a strong foundation in pronunciation, essential vocabulary, and core grammar without overwhelming you.
Interactive & Engaging: Expect dynamic lessons filled with conversational practice, cultural insights, and interactive exercises to keep you motivated and actively speaking.
Continuous Feedback: I provide constructive, immediate feedback during our conversations and offer clear, modular self-study resources so you can continue progressing between our lessons.

Background & Experience

My formal coaching journey began in 2009–2010 as a tutoring coach in the Special Education Department at El Camino College, located in Torrance CA. This foundational experience profoundly shaped my teaching philosophy. Working in special education taught me the importance of extreme patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt my teaching methods to fit each individual's unique learning style.

I bring this same highly adaptable, structured approach to my Spanish lessons today. I understand the mechanics of how people learn best and excel at breaking down complex concepts into easily digestible steps. Together, we will build your foundational language skills until they become second nature.

Let’s get started on your Spanish journey today—book your first lesson, and let's get you speaking from day one. ¡Nos vemos pronto!

About the lesson

Welcome to your first step toward speaking Spanish with confidence! My name is Alberto P Reynoso Holston, My beginner Spanish lessons are designed to take the intimidation out of learning a new language and replace it with genuine excitement and progress.

Who These Lessons Are For

These classes are perfect for complete beginners, travelers wanting to navigate Spanish-speaking countries with ease, and anyone who wants to build a rock-solid, conversational foundation in the language. Whether you are starting from absolute zero or know a few stray words, this is the place for you.

My Teaching Method & Techniques

I believe that language learning should be active, natural, and above all, fun. Instead of getting bogged down in endless textbook drills, my approach centers on conversational fluency and practical, real-world application. We will use interactive exercises, visual aids, everyday role-playing scenarios, and cultural context to make the vocabulary stick naturally. I adapt my teaching style to match how you learn best, ensuring you feel comfortable enough to start speaking from day one.

A Typical Lesson Plan

Warm-Up (5-10 mins): Casual greetings in Spanish and a quick, low-pressure review of previous concepts.

Core Concept (15 mins): Introduction of new vocabulary or a foundational grammar rule using clear, relatable examples.

Interactive Practice (20 mins): Putting the new concept into action through guided role-play, interactive games, or conversational prompts.

Wrap-Up & Q&A (5-10 mins): Reviewing our progress, addressing any questions, and setting a small, manageable goal for the next session.

What Sets Me Apart
My primary focus is on building your confidence in a completely judgment-free zone. I don't expect perfection; I celebrate your mistakes because they are the fastest stepping stones to fluency. With me, you aren't just getting a standard tutor—you are getting a dedicated, patient language coach who is invested in making Spanish your favorite part of the week!
